Overview
The Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1986. Since then, the Chapter has inducted over 100 Italian Americans from the Greater Pittsburgh region. Some are nationally-known athletes, others are amateurs who made their impact on the local sporting scene. The inductees represent a wide array of sports including baseball, football, boxing, soccer and auto racing. Each year, the Pittsburgh Chapter also gives out achievement awards to outstanding individuals in the community and scholarships to exceptional students in financial need.
